The College of Central Florida (CF) is inviting members of the community to join its students and faculty on two study abroad trips in 2024.
The first trip to Costa Rica will take place from March 11 through March 15, 2024, and it will focus on community development. The second trip will head to Austria, from May 5 through May 12, 2024, and the experiences will center around music appreciation.
The CF Study Abroad program, which is in partnership with the Study Abroad Association, is dedicated to facilitating education through international experiences that provide diverse and interesting opportunities for experiential learning.
The Costa Rica trip will include an introduction to medicinal plants, traditional Caribbean cooking lessons, participation in community projects, and a visit to Cahuita National Park and Playa Negra beach. The trip to Austria will feature cultural walking tours, a visit to Mozart’s Birthplace Museum, a classical concert, and time to explore Austria’s capital city of Vienna.
The cost of the Costa Rica trip is approximately $1,500 and the Austria trip is around $1,970. Round-trip airfare is not included. These prices are an estimate until tickets are finalized, and scholarships may be available, according to the college.
Trip prices include accommodations, all ground transportation, full-time local guides, 24/7 on-ground emergency support, travelers’ health insurance, and liability insurance, along with tips and gratuities. In addition, CF states that “some to all meals” may be covered depending on the trip.
Applications are now open for these educational trips, and being enrolled as a College of Central Florida student is not required for participation.
