Deputies were involved in a shooting in Marion County on Wednesday morning that sent a suspect to the hospital.
According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred near the 10000 block of Highway 41, just north of Dunnellon.

MCSO stated that the unidentified suspect was shot by deputies and sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was then transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
No deputies were injured.
An investigation is currently underway, and MCSO deputies and detectives are currently at the scene of the shooting.
“As more details become available, they will be released,” stated the sheriff’s office in a social media post.
