
Herman Loy “Red” Grizzard was called home by Jesus on September 20, 2023. He was born in Carrollton, Georgia on August 27, 1934. Due to his red hair his nickname became “Red” from childhood and he was proud of it.
Red is survived by his wife Ollie Jane Blair of 70 years. His son Stephen, daughter Pam Eubanks (Rick). Three grandsons Jacob Grizzard (Melanie) Lucas Grizzard and Wells Eubanks. He was preceded in death by his youngest son Scott.
Red was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ocala since the age of 18. He loved to sing and was a member of the Choir for over 35 years.
Red worked for the Norris Cattle Company for over 25 years. He traveled the country and to South Africa with Brahman show bulls. Being a rancher and cowboy was his absolute love. When the sunset on the ranch he went to work for HB and Fred Roberts in the limestone business for an additional 25 years, leaving a legacy of a strong work for his children.
Red was a member of the Florida Cattleman’s Association and the Marion County Cattleman’s Association where he enjoyed cooking steaks for the annual cookout. He loved college football and was die hard Georgia Bulldog fan. Coach Dooley and his were pen pals. You could always find him in a crowd by his Bulldog cap high on top of his head. He always enjoyed sharing a cold Dr. Pepper. Red truly enjoyed Sunday afternoon rides and sharing the history of Marion County.
