A Belleview woman is suing a local dollar store alleging she became “stuck” on a floor and fell, resulting in “permanent” injuries.
The lawsuit was filed by attorneys representing Adora Strawser against Dolgencorp, LLC, which does business as Dollar General, in the fifth judicial circuit court of Marion County on Tuesday, September 26.
According to the complaint, on May 20, 2022, Strawser was visiting the Dollar General located at 7120 E Hwy 25 in Belleview.
While Strawser was walking at the store, her foot allegedly got “stuck on a sticky substance” on the floor of the business, “resulting in a fall.”
Strawser’s attorneys accuse the store of failing to “correct a dangerous condition” and “failing to maintain the grounds on its premises in a reasonably safe condition.”
Strawser claims the incident caused “bodily injury,” “pain and suffering,” a “loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life,” hospital expenses, and medical and nursing care expenses.
Strawser is seeking damages “in excess of $50,000,” and a trial by jury, according to the complaint.
As of September 27, a summons has been issued to Dolgencorp, LLC, according to the court docket.
