A pizzeria in east Ocala has permanently closed its location.
Pronto Pizza Express has closed up shop at the Six Gun Plaza, ending a multi-year run for the pizza company, whose main location is in the Churchill Square shopping mall.

Although the exact date of the closure is unknown, the Express location was removed from the company’s website in the past several months.
The company behind the business, Famous Pronto Pizza Express Corp, filed for “dissolution” of the company on September 22, 2023, according to records from the Florida Division of Corporations.
Records show that the business was incorporated at 4901 E Silver Springs Boulevard, Suite 101, in June of 2021.
The location was previously occupied by Little Caesars, which closed at the beginning of 2021. Both pizzerias were just a few blocks away from a Pizza Hut at 3815 E Silver Springs Boulevard that was replaced by a KFC.
Pronto Pizza Express is not the only pizzeria in Ocala to shut down in recent months: Pie-O-Mine closed its sole location in Ocala in October.Â
Over the past year, Six Gun Plaza has seen an influx of new businesses, including the additions of The Sunny Pint, Urban Nutrition, More Than Games, and Sandy’s Shack Imported Wine & Beer, among others.
A few miles from Six Gun Plaza in downtown, a heavily-anticipated pizzeria recently teased the opening of its first location in Ocala.
