A driver was rushed to a local hospital on Saturday morning after their Corvette veered off the roadway and crashed into a power pole near an intersection in Ocala.
At around 8:25 a.m., Marion County Fire Rescue units were dispatched to the intersection of State Highway 200 and SW 80th Street. Multiple individuals had called 911 to report that a car went off the road and clipped a power pole, which broke the vehicle apart, according to MCFR.

Within five minutes, MCFR crews arrived on scene and observed low-hanging power lines and a white Corvette that was “in pieces.”

The driver of the Corvette was rushed to a local hospital as a trauma alert.

Firefighters secured the scene until a power company arrived to restore the power lines. The Florida Highway Patrol also responded to the scene, and troopers are conducting an investigation into the cause of the accident.

The name and age of the driver involved in the crash was not released by Marion County Fire Rescue.
