Florence Cecila (Sittig) Nazarian, of Ocala, Florida, passed away on February 19th, 2024, at the age of 84. Florence was born in Three Oaks, Michigan, to Paul and Frances Sittig on November 9th, 1939. The youngest of eight children, she developed a strong work ethic and radiant personality at an early age, delivering newspapers on her bicycle while also working on her family’s farm.

Florence attended Three Oaks High School in her hometown, where she served as a varsity cheerleader, graduating in 1957. She went on to earn a two-year Secretarial degree from Western Michigan University in 1960 and began her post-graduate career at Electro-Voice in nearby Buchannan, Michigan. Florence met her future husband, Matthew James (Jim) Nazarian, in October of 1962, and they married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Three Oaks on June 8th, 1963.

Florence and Jim relocated to Sevierville, Tennessee, in 1965, where she served on the Nashville Diocesan Council of Catholic Women and joined several volunteer organizations such as the Red Cross and the Sevierville Jaycettes. In 1970, she was named to the Outstanding Women of America in recognition of her ability, accomplishments, and service to her community, country, and profession. During this time, she also became an avid golfer, joining the Women’s League at Bays Mountain Country Club in Seymour, Tennessee.

On March 30th, 1976, Florence gave birth to son, Eric, and spent her time as a successful homemaker and mother, until retiring to Ocala, Florida in 2005, where she lived until her recent passing.

Florence is survived by her husband of sixty years, Jim Nazarian of Ocala, Florida, brother John Sittig of Jacksonville, Florida, and son Eric Nazarian, daughter in-law Andrea Nazarian, and grandson Everett Nazarian of Odessa, Florida. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frances and Paul Sittig, brothers Paul Sittig Jr., Raymond Sittig, and Robert Sittig, and sisters Loretta (Sittig) Covert, Marilyn (Sittig) Zartman, and Theresa (Sittig) Buckingham.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all relatives, friends, and neighbors who have offered their prayers and assistance. Florence will be laid to rest at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens in Ocala, Florida. A celebration-of-life event will be scheduled at a later date.
