Three Ocala sub shops will donate 100% of sales to charity on March 27.

Three Ocala sandwich shops will participate in a national “Day of Giving,” donating 100 percent of their sales on March 27 to a local charity that helps women obtain mammographs.

Jersey Mike’s is currently in the midst of the company’s 14th annual “Month of Giving,” having raised over $88 million since the fundraising campaign began in 2011.

Last year, the company says it raised $21 million for local charities during the campaign. It hopes to surpass that total this year.

“I would like to extend a personal invitation to you and your family to visit Jersey Mike’s Subs throughout the month of March, and especially on Day of Giving when 100 percent of sales – every penny – goes to help a great local cause,” said Peter Cancro, founder and CEO of Jersey Mike’s.

On Wednesday, local Jersey Mike’s owners and operators will donate all of their sales to local charities.

In Ocala, all three locations will donate the day’s sales to Michelle-O-Gram, a nonprofit organization that helps women without insurance or with financial hardship to obtain mammography testing. The organization is named in honor of Michelle Blauser Standridge, a young wife and mother who lost her battle with breast cancer in 2009.

The three local stores (#13100, #13140, and #13249) include Jersey Mike’s new location in Ocala, which officially opened for business last week.

That store is situated at 2785 NW 49th Avenue, while the other two stores are located at 2602 SW 19th Avenue Road and 8075 SW State Road 200.

As of March 20, 2024, there are approximately 2,761 Jersey Mike’s locations across the United States.

During the month of March, customers have had the option to round up purchases to the nearest dollar or donate $1, $3, or $5 when placing an order.

Those donations are then distributed to charities that include hospitals, youth organizations, food banks, and other types.

According to the company, restaurant owners select charities in each market that “support local neighborhoods and build a stronger community.”
