Missing, endangered man last seen in northeast Marion County

Update: The Marion County Sheriff’s Office stated on social media that Thomas Ray Newman has been located and is safe.

Law enforcement authorities are asking for help from the public to locate a missing and endangered 33-year-old man who was last seen in northeast Marion County on Sunday evening.

Thomas Ray Newman was last seen at around 6:40 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, at the corner of NE 114th Avenue Road and NE Highway 315 in Fort McCoy, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

When Newman was last seen, he was wearing a blue hoodie, black pants, a green ball cap, and sandals. He stands 5’11” tall, weighs 220 pounds, and has brown eyes and brown hair.

The sheriff’s office states that Newman suffers from “cognitive impairment,” and he may wander long distances without realizing his location.
