An Ocala park ranger recently came to the rescue of a duck after it became entangled in fishing line.

According to the Ocala Recreation and Parks Department, Park Ranger Andy was at Tuscawilla Park when a Muscovy duck was found wrapped in fishing line and stuck to the bank.

The park ranger quickly sprang into action and freed the duck from the fishing line.

“This situation highlights the dangers that fishing lines pose for our wildlife, which can lead to fatal hazards and entanglements,” stated the Ocala Recreation and Parks Department on social media.

When fishing at the city’s parks, the recreation and parks department urges all visitors to properly dispose of their fishing lines in designated bins.

“Together, we can make a difference and create a safe environment for all wildlife,” added the Ocala Recreation and Parks Department.
