I-75 ramp closures at SR 200 beginning this weekend

Two ramps at the interchange between Interstate 75 and State Road 200 will be temporarily closed beginning this weekend as crews continue to make improvements to the highway.

The Florida Department of Transportation advised this week that the I-75 northbound off-ramp and southbound on-ramp at SR 200 will be closed for resurfacing beginning Sunday.

The northbound I-75 off-ramp to State Road 200 will be closed from Sunday, May 19, at 8 p.m. through 7:30 a.m. on Monday, May 20. Motorists who are traveling northbound on I-75 and looking to exit at SR 200 should essentially make an extended U-turn by using exit 352 (W Silver Springs Blvd). After using exit 352, turn left onto SR 40, and left to get back onto I-75 via the southbound ramp. Then take I-75 southbound to exit at SR 200.

Beginning Monday, May 20, the southbound I-75 on-ramp from SR 200 will be closed nightly from 8 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. That closure is expected to last through Wednesday, May 22.

Motorists who are traveling southwest on SR 200 and trying to get onto southbound I-75 should continue southwest, turn left on Southwest 60th Avenue, turn left on Southwest 95th Street, turn right on Southwest 49th Avenue, turn left on Marion Oaks Trail, turn left on County Road (C.R.) 484, and continue east before reaching the on ramp for southbound I-75.

Motorists who are traveling northeast on SR 200 and trying to get onto southbound I-75 should turn right on Southwest 43rd Street Road before the interchange, continue east onto Southwest 42nd Street, continue east onto Southwest 32nd Street, turn right on C.R. 475, turn right on C.R. 484, and continue west before reaching the on-ramp for southbound I-75.

The roadwork is part of FDOT’s ongoing project to make major improvements on I-75 from the Sumter County line to SR 200. That includes resurfacing of the roadway, reconstruction of median crossovers, guardrail updates, and minor drainage improvements.
