New soap and bath shop coming to Ocala plaza

A soap and bath company with 40 franchises around the country will add its first location in Ocala soon.

Magnolia Soap and Bath Co. is currently being built at 2701 SW College Rd #604-A in Gaitway Plaza. The new business will take over a space formerly occupied by Jenny Craig.

Magnolia Soap and Bath Co was founded in 2016 by Magen Bynum, who sought safer soap alternatives for her daughter’s sensitive skin.

Cynthia and Phillip Everett own and operate the Ocala franchise, which will be situated in between All Nail & Spa and Leslie’s Pool Supplies.

The Everetts bring decades of experience from different industries to the new business and are “excited to create exquisite products,” according to a statement issued by the company.

“With Cynthia’s passion for helping others and Phillip’s knack for managing operations, they’re thrilled to introduce Magnolia Soap and Bath to the world,” reads the statement.

Magnolia Soap and Bath Co. offers a variety of bar, liquid, and shave soaps, as well as face, body, and laundry washes. Products are handcrafted and made with plant-based ingredients.

According to the company, there are currently over 40 locations across the country, primarily in the southeastern United States.

The Ocala location is the third location in Florida, joining others in Destin and Panama City.
