According to the media company, to make the list, a city had to have “good value,” be a “desirable place to live,” and have a “strong job market and a high quality of life.”

The company says it gave different weights to a variety of factors in these categories, including crime rates, quality of education, best hospitals, air quality, housing affordability, net migration, and weather temperateness.

The list also cited several qualities and locations that make Ocala special, including the Silver Springs State Park and the fact that the city boasts its own symphony orchestra.
