A chef who started several successful restaurants in the northwestern United States is bringing his culinary expertise to Ocala in the form of a new bistro.
Three Six Bistro is currently under construction at 3751 SE 36th Avenue, Suite C. The new restaurant replaces Connotto’s, a family-owned sandwich shop that closed shortly after it opened last year. That restaurant had taken over the space from the shuttered Dragonfly Cafe.
Over the past several weeks, owner/chef Sean Langan has been sharing photo updates of the progress Three Six Bistro.
Langan’s previous success stories include Flavour Bistro and Amore, both of which were established in the state of Washington. Over the years, Langan grew in fame for both his recipes and impact on the local community in Washington.
Now, he will bring those recipes and his “modernist culinary philosophy” to Ocala. According to the company’s website, the new restaurant will use “scratch recipes” and an “innovative style” to create “three-dimensional” pieces of art in appearance, aroma, and taste.
The menu features a variety appetizers, including several that are seafood-based. That includes crab fondue, coconut clams, and a seafood empanada, which is filled with scallops, bay shrimp, crab, and lobster.
The list of entrees includes duck, pork tenderloin, filet mignon, lobster tail, wild boar ribs, sesame-crusted tuna, and a Wagyu burger.
According to the menu, the restaurant will also offer a few brunch options that include eggs, fruit and yogurt, and a pork belly hash bowl.
Last week, Langan announced that he is currently hiring both front of the house and back of the house employees.
“We seek artistic servers with bold and bright personalites. We seek people that understand the craft, style, and art of being a great server,” reads a statement from the restaurant posted to socials.
