RaceWash will open its sixth location in Ocala soon under a different name than its predecessors.
Construction of the new SuperWash at 1481 SW Hwy 484 is nearly complete, with the site gearing up to take customers “soon,” according to the digital sign at the establishment.
Located near the CR 484 and Interstate 75 interchange, when it opens, the new SuperWash will be located further south than all of the other five car washes, which are situated along SR 200, West SR 40, and Maricamp Road.
The new car wash has been under construction since last year and seems to be in the final stretches of development in the past few weeks.
Although the location’s Google listing indicates that it opened on April 22, a visit to the site over the weekend confirmed that it has not yet opened. A call and email to the company were not responded to for comment.
RaceWash is a family-owned business that was founded by brothers Mac and Merritt Fore. The company opened its first location on Maricamp Road in 2013.
Since that first RaceWash location opened, the city of Ocala has seen an explosion in growth, both in residential and commercial development. As a result, several other car wash companies have expanded throughout the region as well.
That includes Caliber Car Wash, which opened its first location in Ocala in 2021.
Tidal Wave Auto Spa recently celebrated the grand opening of its second car wash in Ocala, which is located just a few miles south of its first location.
UPDATE: The address of the new SuperWash was originally, incorrectly reported as 1525 SW Hwy 484. That is the address of the RaceTrac next door.
