Cajun seafood restauranteurs working on new Ocala location

The owners of a popular cajun seafood restaurant in Crystal River are in the midst of renovating a new location in Ocala.

Cajun Jimmy’s Seafood Seller, LLC is currently building out a new restaurant at 2130 E Silver Springs Boulevard, taking over a space that was formerly occupied by Blue Highway Pizzeria.

Owned by Jimmy Stoltz and Sue Gerzel, the new restaurant will similarly feature New Orleans-style cuisine and a bevy of seafood options like its sister restaurant in Crystal River (300 SE Highway 19).

“Our food is cooked to order and prepared from the heart as though you are a guest in our home,” reads a statement from the couple on the restaurant’s website. “We are a happy and hardworking ‘Family.’ We take pride in every meal that is served and we care about you!”

The restaurant will serve up a variety of cajun favorites, including fried green tomatoes, crawfish and alligator macaroni & cheese, poboys, and jambalaya.

Crawfish at Seafood Seller and Cafe
Steamed crawfish is one of the many seafood options at Seafood Seller Cafe.

Additionally, the restaurant will feature multiple raw and steamed shellfish options, as well a variety of fish entrees (i.e., catfish, flounder, mahi, scallops).

According to records, the city of Ocala issued a permit for signage at the site last week.

When it opens, the new business will join multiple others that have continued to shift the commercial landscape in east Ocala:
