Construction to cause lane closure near Ocala distribution centers

Motorists can expect temporary lane closures next week on a stretch of road located near several distribution centers in Ocala.

On Tuesday, Marion County officials announced that the northernmost westbound lane of NW 35th Street, between NW 20th Avenue and NW 27th Avenue, will be closed from Monday, June 10 through June 14.

This stretch of the road is just a few blocks from several of Ocala’s large distribution centers, including AutoZone and Amazon.

According to the county, Miller Construction Company will be constructing an entrance for street improvements associated with the city-approved Antebellum project.

Workers and equipment will be located in the county’s right-of-way, and crews will place barricades and signs to direct traffic through the work zones.

Travelers should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible.

Adverse weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances may affect schedules, according to the county.
