Several vehicles at an Ocala collision center were consumed by flames and destroyed after a fire broke out early Tuesday morning.

OFR’s Engine 1, Engine 4, and Rescue 1 units responded to the collision center. Upon arrival, crew members observed a large column of smoke and flames rising from three vehicles that were parked side by side near a locked fence.

Firefighters forced the gate open and began attacking the flames.

The fire was soon under control. OFR stated that its crews then utilized foam to extinguish any remaining hotspots while cooling the area to prevent rekindling.

Firefighters managed to prevent the fire from spreading beyond the three vehicles that were initially involved, though heat from the flames caused a fourth vehicle to sustain paint damage.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, according to OFR.

The Ocala Police Department also responded to the scene of the fire.
