I left Ocala in 2021 to live in a small mountain town.

To the Editor:

I have read a lot of letters about overdevelopment in Ocala. I lived in Ocala for 25 years. I was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, so I wanted get away from the big city and moved to Ocala in 1996. When Wawa started coming in and all the car washes, I knew those companies probably are going where the growth is going to be. They do there homework and I also worked outside so I dreaded every summer.

Almost two years ago, I decided to move to a small mountain town in North Carolina. I don’t make the money I did in Ocala and that’s what it’s usually about. But living a quieter lifestyle was important, and I’m enjoying every day. I just want to say, I feel your pain.
