Ocala man allegedly threatens to stab 2 men with knife in Circle K parking lot

A 52-year-old Ocala man is facing felony assault charges after he allegedly approached two men in a Circle K parking lot and threatened to stab them with a pocketknife.

On Thursday, June 6, a Marion County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to the Circle K located at 5182 E Silver Springs Boulevard in Ocala in reference to a suspicious individual in the area. After arriving on scene, the deputy made contact with two male victims who advised that a man, later identified as Jason Edward Price, had threatened to harm them with a knife, according to the arrest report.

The deputy noted in the report that Price was observed in a nearby retention pond, and he was “yelling with nobody else around him.” Price then began walking towards Silver Springs Boulevard, and he was detained in handcuffs.

According to statements from the victims, they were in the parking lot when Price approached them “unprovoked.” Price then began to “curse and yell” at the victims, allegedly threatening to “cut their throats with a knife.”

One of the victims recalled seeing Price pull a small pocketknife from his pocket during the incident. When the victim began calling 911, Price proceeded to walk towards the retention pond, where he began “throwing things into the woods,” according to the report.

A second MCSO deputy soon arrived on scene, and a search of Price, as well as the incident location and surrounding area, was conducted. The report stated that the pocketknife in question was not located.

Price refused to discuss the incident with the deputies. He was placed under arrest and transported to Marion County Jail, where he is currently being held without bond. He is being charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill.

A court date has been scheduled at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9, according to jail records.
