Kevin Leroy Phillips

Kevin Leroy Phillips, 60 of Ocala, Florida passed away unexpectedly on June 7, 2024 in Ocala. Kevin was born in Flint, Michigan to Larry and Sandra (Shively) Phillips on March 23, 1964.

He attended Swartz Creek High School and graduated in 1982. He enjoyed boating and fishing
Kevin served in the United States Air Force in the Military Police from 1982 ~ 1986. He went on to earn a degree in Criminal Justice from Fort Myers Police Academy. Kevin served proudly as a police officer for the Cape Coral Police Department as well as the Inverness Police Department. He was recognized and received an several awards such as the “Citizenship Award” for rescuing the elderly from a burning nursing home building. He also appeared in the National Enquirer for saving a child who was bitten by a seven-foot killer snake.

Kevin is survived by his wife, Sheryl (Mullen) Phillips of Ocala, his mother, Sandra Phillips of Cadillac, Michigan, brother and sister-in-law, Brian and Lisa Phillips of Blairsville, Georgia, sons, Aaron Phillips of Michigan, Kevin Joseph Phillips of Fort Myers, Florida, and Kallon Phillips of Salt Springs, Florida, step-daughters, Tatiana Zook and Cadance Zook, his siblings, Allan Huntley of Alaska, JoAnn Huntley of Pennsylvania, Sheila Huntley of Florida, Darren Huntley of Michigan and Lisa LaPlant of Michigan, as well as his dogs, Max, Luna, Lola and bubbles and his cat Bella.
He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Phillips, grandparents, Harry and Ethel Phillips and dale and Lorene Shively.
