ResCare Community Living Celebrates 40-Year Anniversary

ResCare Community Living celebrated its 40th anniversary and highlighted long-time employees at their Ocala Cluster.

“Today’s 40-year celebration allowed us the opportunity to honor and thank our caregivers—many of whom have worked here for ten, twenty, and even thirty years,” said Michael Karaphillis, ResCare Florida Executive Director. “Throughout the years, these are the people who have helped shape ResCare Community Living into what it is today. With a team committed to our patients and community, we look forward to the next forty years.”

The Ocala Cluster is home to twenty-four Floridians who live in three houses located on thirteen beautiful acres. ResCare is a leading provider of community living services in the state, with seven locations throughout Florida. This anniversary marks how far they have come in serving the community and the employees who have contributed to that success.

The celebration on May 28 included remarks from Tammy Walker, 2024 Direct Support Professional (DSP) of the Year, and state and local elected officials, including Senator Keith Perry.

“It’s been an honor to work here for over thirty years and to receive recognition for the work I do,” said Tammy Walker, who received the 2024 Direct Support Professional of the Year award from the American Network of Community Options and Resources. “Forty years as a facility is a long time, but it comes down to the daily impactful moments that change lives. I come in each day with that mentality of helping others throughout the little moments.”
