Victim in fatal Ocala shooting ID’d; $3K reward offered for info on shooting

Detectives are investigating a fatal shooting in Ocala that claimed the life of a woman over the weekend, and a cash reward is being offered to encourage anyone with information to come forward.

On Saturday, June 29, at around 10:35 p.m., Ocala Police Department officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of NW 20th Avenue in reference to shots being fired in the area, according to OPD.

When officers arrived on scene, they found a woman who was deceased. She was later identified by Ocala police as 31-year-old Faye Porter.

A homicide investigation was launched, and the police department stated in a social media post early Sunday morning that detectives don’t believe there is any danger to the community.

No further details were provided by law enforcement regarding the shooting incident or any potential suspect(s).
