Bomb testing continues this week in Ocala National Forest

The United States Navy will continue its bomb tests this week at the Ocala National Forest.

Bomb testing will continue at the Pinecastle Range Complex within the forest on Tuesday, July 9. According to a statement from the U.S. Naval Air Station in Jacksonville, inert bomb testing will take place from 9:15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

No other details were provided regarding additional testing dates this week.

The Navy is advising local residents to be on the lookout for wildlife that may be temporarily displaced during the bombing periods.

Motorists are advised to drive cautiously while passing through the Ocala National Forest and surrounding areas.

Any items around a residence that may attract wildlife should be secured, including trash cans.
