After a week of no tests, the United States Navy will resume live and inert bomb tests every day this week, beginning in the early afternoon and continuing through 11 p.m. each night.
Testing will begin on Monday, August 5, and will take place every day through Sunday, August 11, from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Bombing takes place at the Pinecastle Range Complex within the forest. During bombing periods, wildlife may be temporarily displaced.
The Navy is advising motorists to “use extra caution when driving through the Ocala National Forest and surrounding areas.”
Local residents are advised to secure items around residences that may attract wildlife, including black bears.
