As of 8 a.m. this morning, there are still at least 6,000 customers without power across Marion County, as local crews continue working to restore lines downed by Hurricane Debby.

Workers from several different power companies serving Marion County reportedly worked throughout the night to eliminate as many outages as possible. According to outage maps from local providers, thousands of customers have had their power restored in the past 24 hours.

Clay Electric Cooperative reports that at least 1,125 of its 16,860 customers in Marion County are still without power as of this morning.

Duke Energy’s outage map shows that out of 78,287 customers in Marion County, 5,414 remain without power due to 204 active outages.

SECO Energy’s outage map largely shows that power to its small customer base in Marion County has been fully restored.

The most recent data available from the National Hurricane Center shows that Tropical Storm Debby is currently about 20 miles southwest of Savannah, Georgia. The storm currently has maximum sustained winds of 45 mph and is moving northeast at around 6 mph.
