A guest speaker will talk about the history of the Seminole Tribe in Florida during the next installment of the “Summer Nights” lecture series at Fort King.

Bill Locascio will speak during the Summer Nights lecture series on Thursday, August 15, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fort King National Historic Landmark, which is located at 3925 E Fort King St. in Ocala.

Each week, the series explores Ocala’s and Florida’s past with new topics presented by experts in natural and historical resources.

This week, Bill Locascio, Research Manager of Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum, will present Enduring Legacies: Exploring the Past from the Seminole Perspective.

During the lecture, Locascio will provide oversight about Seminole history and how museum staff makes the tribe’s history broadly accessible. Locascio will also discuss the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum and archaeological field research in the 21st century.
