A Time to be Born

Barbara Ann Clark Edwards was the first born child of the late Lonnie Charles Clark and Helen Lonesome Clark Orr. She was born in Gainesville, FL on December 18, 1942.

A Time to Learn

She begin her early school years in the Alachua County schools. After moving to Ocala, she completed her formal schooling at Howard High School in the Marion County, public school system. While working she continued her education by attending nursing school at Santa Fe and Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida.

A Time to Share Love

She was united in Holy Matrimony at an early age to Lorenzo S. Edwards on August 16, 1957, whose union yielded four sons (Richard, Darryl, Stanley and Brian). This Blessed union continued just 10 days short of 67 years.

A Time of Christian Experience

She accepted Christ Jesus as her savior and followed him in Baptism as a member of Covenant Missionary Baptist Church. She moved her membership in1968 after her husband was called to pastor Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church. What a First Lady she became!

A Time of Employment

She was employed at Jerry’s Restaurant located at S. Pine Ave and SW 3rd St and upon completing nursing school she worked at Munroe Regional Medical Center where she retired after nearly 40 years of labor. She worked predominantly in “Labor and Delivery,” where she assisted in delivering hundred’s if not thousands of babies into this community. She continued working in Christ’s Vineyard until her physical health prevented her to go on.

A Time to Cherish Precious Memories

She was preceded in death by her Mother Helen Lonesome Clark Orr, Father Lonnie Charles Clark, son Darryl Eric Edwards Sr., and great-grandson Darry III.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her loving husband Rev. Dr. Lorenzo Stanley Edwards Sr.; sons Rev. Richard A. (Mary) Edwards, Lorenzo “Stanley” (Letecia) Edwards Jr., and Brian S.L. Edwards Sr.; brothers Charles “Don” Clark Sr., Wallace Ralph (Wandea) Clark; sisters Bonnie Marie Clark Jones, Yvette Anita (Michael) Clark Larkins; Grandchildren Darryl E. (Jessica) Edwards Sr., Andrea A. Edwards, Robert Lee Scott Jr., Lorenzo S. Edwards III, Lexxten S. Edwards, Brian S.L. “BJ” Edwards Jr., April T. Edwards, Arshia R. Edwards, Ashley R. Edwards Badjie, Arniece L (Marcus) Morand; nieces Nicole Clark Howard, Mesha W. Clark, Larneshar (Stephen) Uyanna, Chazzten Pettiford, Breeana Larkins, Brittnee Larkins; and nephews Justin Clark, Kadron (Nikki) Clark, Dawadrain (Valerie) Clark, Quong Clark, Charles (Latoya) Clark, Zelvin Clark; 21 great grandchildren; sister in law: Wanda Pete Edwards and a host of loving cousins and friends.
