The United States Navy will conduct live and inert bomb tests at the Ocala National Forest throughout the weekend as late as 11 p.m. each night.

Bomb testing will take place at the Pinecastle Range Complex within the forest from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Thursday, August 15. Testing will continue at the same times on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

During bombing periods, naval officials advise residents that they may hear loud noises and that wildlife may be temporarily displaced.

Residents in and around the forest are asked to secure any items that may attract wildlife and to always be mindful of large animals, including black bears, that may be startled during the bombing.

Any noise complaints may be emailed to the U.S. Navy.
