New interior design, furniture store restores 78-year-old Ocala building

A new interior design and furniture store that has restored a 78-year-old building near downtown Ocala will open its doors on Friday.

Alva House of Style will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, August 30, and a grand opening celebration on Saturday, August 31, at its new shop, which is located at 507 SW 10th Street.

The new space takes over a former antique mall. According to Marion County property records, the building was constructed in 1946.

In March, the city issued a building permit for the site.

The new business is owned by Amy Alvarado and Silver Springs Holdings, LLC, which is registered to Nathan Sands.

During its grand opening, the business will offer a free gift to its first 50 customers.

Alva House of Style offers a diverse product offering, including home decor items like vases, chairs, figurines, rugs, lamps, sculptures, and dozens of other items.

In addition to the decorative items, the business has a large collection of top-end furniture including sofas, chairs, benches, buffets, cabinets, beds, nightstands, and a variety of accent furniture.
