City cuts ribbon on new Heritage Trail in west Ocala

City officials unveiled the new Heritage Trail in west Ocala during a ribbon-cutting ceremony earlier this week.

On Tuesday, the city of Ocala cut the ribbon on the new trail, which is located on the north side of W State Road 40/W Silver Springs Boulevard, between NW 9th Avenue and NW 11th Avenue.

Heritage Trail features a decorative sidewalk, public art panels that showcase the city’s history, and lush landscaping.

Originally scheduled for August 5, last month, the city postponed the ribbon-cutting event due to Hurricane Debby.

The art panels were painted by Charles Eady and display historic images that honor prominent west Ocala citizens who have made significant contributions to the community.
