A Winn-Dixie grocery store in south Ocala that is being converted into an ALDI is currently hiring to fill several full and part-time positions at the renovated location.
The store at 184 Marion Oaks Boulevard is currently hiring managerial and staff positions. In addition to the new store, several other ALDI locations are also currently hiring. Anyone interested in applying may do so through ALDI’s website.
Earlier this summer, plans were submitted by 184 Marion Oaks Blvd, LLC, which is connected to a New York-based commercial real estate company, for “additions/alterations” to the former Winn-Dixie location. The plans show that the store will be “sub-divided” and retrofitted with a new ALDI grocery store.
The conversion comes just over a year after ALDI first acquired Winn-Dixie locations in a multi-billion dollar deal.
No additional details regarding the renovation have been made available.
Although there is one other Winn-Dixie location in Ocala at 7131 N. U.S. Hwy 441, there are no records currently filed with the county that show renovation plans for the store.
Last month, a Winn-Dixie in The Villages announced that it would undergo remodeling to be converted into an ALDI. According to Sumter County records, the cost to remodel that facility is approximately $1.9 million.
Currently, ALDI operates four locations across the city of Ocala. That includes two located on or near State Road 200, one in the east that serves Silver Springs, and one in the southeast that serves Silver Springs Shores.
