A company owned by a well-known Orlando attorney is seeking a special use permit from Marion County officials in order to install a 123-foot cell tower on a 21.56-acre property located within an Ocala neighborhood.

Kingsland Land Holdings, LLC, will make its request for a special use permit to construct a new, 123-foot monopole cell tower and ground equipment within the Kingsland Country neighborhood.

The cell tower would be situated on a nearly 22-acre property located just south of SW 109 Street Road and just west of SW 53rd Circle. The community is currently zoned single-family dwelling (R-1).

According to corporate records, Kingsland Land Holdings, LLC, is currently registered to Mark E. NeJame, a trial attorney and owner of Nejame Law. The law firm provides services for personal injury, criminal defense, and civil litigation, among other areas of practice.

According to Marion County property records, NeJame bought the property in Ocala for $1.2 million nearly 20 years ago in 2005.

A notice of public hearing was issued for the special use permit this week. The notice indicates that the permit will be presented to the Marion County Zoning Commission on September 30.

The permit will be presented for consideration to the Marion County Board of County Commissioners on October 15, 2024.
