To the Editor:
In response to the individual who questions how Florida can be called the free state and cites forbidden books as the proof. I say, we are free to protect our children.
A parent knows better than any school board member, better than any teacher, better than any pastor, better than any legislator when their child is emotionally able to handle certain issues of life (particularly issues related to sexual activity) and has the right to expect others (including teachers and legislators) to respect the rights of parents and allow the parents to be parents according to their values.
So yes, we are free to be parents here in Florida.
