An organization with over 1,000 pilates studios across the country is working on its first location in Ocala.
Club Pilates is building out a new location at 303 SE 17th Street, Suite 106, within Ocala’s Churchill Square shopping plaza.
The new Pilates studio will offer low-impact, full-body workouts that put a modern spin on the popular exercise created by Joseph Pilates, a German physical trainer.
Club Pilates was founded by Allison Beardsley in San Diego in 2007. It is currently owned by Xponential Fitness, which bills itself as the “largest fitness franchise group of boutique fitness brands” across several verticals, including pilates, boxing, stretching, and barre. Xponential currently operates over 3,000 locations across the world.
Over 1,000 of the company’s locations are Club Pilates studios.
Although there are no locations in Ocala, locally, the company operates studios in Wildwood, The Villages, and Gainesville.
The new business at Churchill Square is one of several that have joined the plaza in the past couple of years.
In April, Catrina opened a new Mexican restaurant at the plaza. Get Stretch’d opened its doors next to Publix at the plaza last year, and Albelo’s Sub Shop opened at the plaza in early 2023.
Although an opening date has not yet been announced, the Club Pilates website shows that the facility will operate seven days a week, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. when it does open.
