To the Editor:
Recently, and more than ever, I have seen many letters and articles that have to do with the growth here in Marion County. Yes, it’s true that Marion County is growing at a phenomenal rate, but in the 22 years I’ve been here, it’s been growing steadily. I’ve always known that it would continue to grow, because it’s a large and beautiful place to live and very desirable to those fleeing cold winters, high crime, high taxes and terrible, corrupt politics.
My letter has to do with the “politics” part.
When I first came here in 2002, Marion County was as Republican as you could get, and that was a good thing. As it’s grown, people that have moved here from large, inner cities, blue states, or migrated from other countries, have brought their Liberal/Woke/Progressive/Democratic beliefs with them, and continue to push their brand of big government politics into every aspect of our lives.
I’m here to say: Take your Liberal thinking somewhere else. We don’t want it. I’ve personally seen what that kind of thinking does to a place and none of it’s good. I moved here from Connecticut, where the middle class was decimated by high taxes, big spending, corrupt local/state politicians, high crime and terrible infrastructure. I don’t want that happening here. If the politics here are too conservative for you, then do us all a favor, and just leave, or change your way of thinking.
