A restaurant that serves scratch-made meals and the “freshest bread within 20 miles of Ocala” has just opened a new, stylish dining space in northwest Ocala.
Primary Tavern officially opened its doors earlier this month at 4043 NW Blitchton Road. The new restaurant is located just southeast of the HCA Florida Foxwood Emergency Room that opened earlier this year.
Owned by Mildred Arent and Kelley Welsh, the new restaurant features an extensive menu of handmade appetizers, salads, entrees, and desserts.
Specialty dishes include beef manicotti, center-cut roast pork loin, stuffed Mediterranean chicken breast, Havana pot roast, and a savory, handmade waffle, among others.
Starters include bruschetta, stuffed sweet peppers, petite crab cakes, fresh mozzarella, tomato, and basil kebabs, and antipasto plates.
“Our thoroughly planned menu selections are prepared by hand and served as described,” reads a statement from the restaurant’s menu.
The restaurant also bakes its own desserts, including a variety of handmade cakes like midnight cake, which is a chocolate layer cake.
The restaurant is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. It is also open for takeout orders on Monday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
“We take pride in making everything fresh and cooked to order, which can take a little more time, but it ensures you get the best quality. We believe it’s worth the wait for a delicious meal made just for you,” reads a statement posted by the restaurant on social media.
This week, Primary Tavern announced it would temporarily offer “anything on the menu” for only $11 on Monday for takeout, “while supplies last.”
