Construction is underway on a new Tractor Supply in east Marion County.
Located on a 9-acre parcel in the 16000 block of E Highway 40 in Silver Springs, the newest Tractor Supply will be near a substation of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and Forest Community Center.
For over 85 years, Tractor Supply has served the needs of recreational farmers, ranchers, homeowners, gardeners, pet enthusiasts, and more. With over 2,200 locations in 49 states as of June 29, 2024, the company is the largest rural lifestyle retailer in the U.S.
Construction of the company’s newest location in Marion County is steadily progressing as the exterior of the structure takes shape. Ocala-News.com first reported the new Tractor Supply in June.
Earlier this year, the site in east Marion County was purchased by a holding company that has a history of building retail businesses, including several locations for Tractor Supply.
JFS Holdings, LLC, a North Carolina company registered to Phil C. Lanning, purchased the property in April for $935,000. Prior to this sale, the 9-acre property had remained in the same owner’s possession for nearly 26 years dating back to July 1998, according to Marion County property records.
Lanning is the Chief Executive Officer and President of Primax Properties, LLC, a North Carolina-based company that develops, constructs, and manages properties. The company is responsible for dozens of real estate projects on behalf of national brands including Advance Auto Parts, Starbucks, and Tractor Supply, among others.
The upcoming Tractor Supply location will join three others in the area in the south (1751 SW 134th St, Ocala), north (7351 N U.S. Hwy 441, Ocala), and southwest (11242 N Williams Street, Dunnellon) parts of Marion County.
