Mary Jane Moore was born on September 26, 1940, and passed away in her husband’s arms on September 17, 2024, in Ocala, FL.
Mary Jane is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, James Moore; 2 beloved children, Rachael and Michael; 3 grandchildren, Nicole, Robin, and Mallory; her sisters, Margaret Kidd and Sister Donald Mary Lynch; and she always fondly remembered her first baby. James Bernard.
When recently asked what she was most proud of in her life, she replied, “My family.” Mary Jane was born in La Crosse, WI, to Donald Bernard Lynch and Mary Catherine Horihan. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing in 1962 from the College of Saint Teresa in Winona, MN, including two years of clinical experience at St Mary’s Hospital and the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. She then began practicing in the newborn nursery at St. Mary’s Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.
She married the love of her life on September 1st, 1962. They moved to California in 1968 to raise their family. When the kids flew the nest, she began her second career in accounting and personal financial planning. On their own, she and Jim traveled extensively all over the world, including a wonderful five-year adventure boating in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska. They retired from boating on September Song and settled on the Olympic Peninsula in WA. Ever restless, a few years ago, she and Jim packed up and moved across the country to Ocala, FL.
There will be an intimate family service to honor Mary Jane on October 5, 2024, in Ocala, FL. Friends and family are welcome to join a gathering at the family’s home following the service. Please contact Michael at mmoore305@gmail.com or Rachael at rachael.moore315@gmail.com for details.
