A Fortune 500 company that bills itself as the “nation’s largest supplier of structural building products” and services for residential construction just purchased a 22-acre property in northeast Ocala.

BFS Real Estate, LLC, purchased the 22.11-acre property for $1,250,000 on October 7, according to a special warranty deed filed with the Marion County Clerk of Court.

The property is located just east of NE 25th Avenue and just south of NE 24th Street, less than a mile north of Skylark Plaza in northeast Ocala.

Currently, the property is zoned M-1, light industrial, and its northern border has approximately 615 feet of frontage along NE 24th Street.

According to Marion County property records, the property was sold by the Chapman Family Foundation, Inc., a Panama City-based organization.

State corporate records show that BFS Real Estate, LLC is registered to Builders FirstSource, Inc., a multi-billion dollar company headquartered in Irving, Texas.

According to its website, Builders FirstSource provides supplies and services to professionals in new residential construction, repair, and remodeling.
