Robert Jerome Valentine was born in Bronx, New York on June 11th, 1943. He was the son of Thomas Valentine and Katherine Collopy Valentine.
He was predeceased by his parents and his older brother Thomas. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary and his sister, Kathy.
After an education in several Catholic grade & high schools, he graduated with an English teaching degree from Seton Hall University. He then earned two Masters Degrees from Teachers College, Columbia University. He spent a few years as a middle school counselor before being trained as a family therapist. For many years, he worked as a social worker specializing in family therapy.
At Christmas of 1999, Robert married Rosemarie Stender Sullo in Germany, in the church where her parents were married. After the marriage, they stayed in Germany for eight years where he spent time playing golf and learning German. He and his wife loved traveling and seeing the world.
In 2001, the couple moved into a new house in Florida where they alternated living half the year there and half the year in Germany. Bob continued playing golf in Germany, but also played in Florida, then in Texas for 10 years, then Florida again.
Bob was a news-hound reading the NY Times daily and watching TV news programs, especially PBS. Bob was also a member of Blessed Trinity Church in Ocala, FL where he volunteered for and cherished a weekly hour of adoration.
