Alpha Darleen Kolasa, 78, of Ocala, Florida passed away peacefully on November 11, 2024.
Alpha was born on July 4, 1946 to Frank and Helen Wilson in Baltimore, MD. She graduated from Reading High School in Reading, PA in 1964 and went on to pursue a career in banking. Never a fan of the winters or cold, Alpha left Pennsylvania for the warmer, sunny Florida, eventually calling Ocala home. Devoted wife of the late Joseph Kolasa;
Alpha is survived by sons Steven (Katie) and Scott (Kathryn) Derr. She was best known as “Mee-Maw” and treasured her grandchildren Amanda (Tyler), Kaley, and Dalton (Jamie), and great-granddaughters Natalie and Claire.
Alpha enjoyed her favorite pastime which was playing and cuddling with Zeus, completing puzzles, and spending time with family and friends. Alpha was a fan of all things Winnie the Pooh, collecting snow globes with Kaley, and collecting Hess trucks for Dalton. Alpha managed to always make people smile and laugh. She had a sense of humor that has been passed through generations, often referring to each other as “Little Alpha” when they are being especially ornery.
Alpha was predeceased in death by her husband, Joseph Kolasa; her parents Frank and Helen Wilson; and siblings Edna, Phyllis, Frank and Keith.
In the words of Winnie the Pooh, “How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard”. Alpha will be greatly missed by all that were lucky enough to know and love her. In lieu of services, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
