The Ocala Police Department re-arrested a suspect at the HCA Ocala Hospital this afternoon after the man briefly escaped custody.
At around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26, OPD reported that Donald Nash, 26, had escaped the custody of the Florida Highway Patrol.
Surveillance footage showed that Nash had last been seen wearing handcuffs.
At the time, OPD believed Nash was likely still in the area. A large police presence responded to the hospital to search for Nash.
Around 30 minutes after the initial announcement, OPD reported that Nash had been found.
“[Nash] was found by Ocala PD K9 in some woods nearby,” reads a statement from OPD.
Nash is currently in custody at the Marion County Jail on a charge operating a motor vehicle without a valid license.
