The United States Navy will resume testing bombs within the Ocala National Forest this week.

Live and inert bombing will return to the Pinecastle Range Complex within the forest beginning on Tuesday, December 3, from 12:45 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. and again from 5:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Testing will continue on Wednesday, December 4, from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., and again from 5:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.; and two final sessions will take place on Thursday, December 5, from 12:45 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. and again from 5:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

During bombing periods, local residents and motorists are advised to use extra caution while driving in and around the Ocala National Forest, as wildlife may be temporarily displaced by the bombing.

“Secure any items around your residence that could attract wildlife. Always be mindful of larger animals, including black bears,” reads a statement from the Navy.
