Local detectives are investigating a shooting in Dunnellon that took place early Saturday morning and claimed the life of a man.
According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal shooting took place in the 1200 block of SW Shorewood Drive in the Rainbow Lake Estates neighborhood just before 3 a.m.
The sheriff’s office reported the incident through social media earlier this morning.
According to MCSO, upon arrival, deputies they located a “white adult male” who was deceased from an “apparent gunshot wound.”
Detectives say that all parties involved in the shooting have been accounted for and are being interviewed.
MCSO Major Crimes detectives says they are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting and will release more information as it becomes available.
