The city will host a day trip to the Butterfly Rainforest at the Florida Museum of Natural History in Gainesville this week for senior residents of Marion County.
The trip will be on Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Those seeking to attend will meet at the Eighth Avenue Adult Activity Center, located at 830 NE eighth Ave. in Ocala.
The Butterfly Rainforest at the Florida Museum of Natural History in Gainesville is an indoor rainforest, home to hundreds of butterflies from around the world, offering an unforgettable experience in nature.
The cost to participate is $14 plus the cost of lunch. It includes the cost of a charter bus.
Participants must be ages 50 and older and are asked to pre-register.
