A travel plaza in northwest Ocala that features a gas station and restaurant was recently sold for $3.2 million.
Parretts Travel Plaza, which is located at 331 NW 20th Street, was purchased by Central Florida Petroleum Distributers, L C, for $3,200,000 from Ganeshy, Inc., on December 18, 2024.
The 4.14-acre property in northwest Ocala features a BP gas station and the city’s sole Huddle House location.
According to state corporate records, Ganeshy, Inc., is registered to Reetaben N. Patel, and Central Florida Petroleum Distributors, L C, is registered to Automated Petroleum & Energy.
Although the sale includes the property and buildings, corporate records show that Huddle House is owned by Ameer Hemdani. It is unclear if the restaurant was included in this or a separate sale.
Automated Petroleum & Energy is based in Brandon. The company owns over 300 gas stations across the state of Florida and employs 37 individuals, according to its website.
According to Marion County property records, the 4.14-acre property was last sold in April 2012 for $800,000.
That year, the former Citgo at the site was replaced with Sunoco. County records also show that Huddle House was renovated in 2016.
Before Huddle House, the restaurant space was occupied by Coffee Kettle Restaurant.
Although there are over 270 Huddle House restaurants in operation across the United States, currently, there are only 9 in operation in Florida. All are located in the northern part of the state.
