The Ocala Calligraphy Guild will host free youth and teen calligraphy classes at a local community center this week.
The group will gather on Wednesday, January 8, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Mary Sue Rich Community Center (1821 NW 21st Avenue, Ocala).
Classes will be held on the second Wednesday of each month at the center through April 9. The classes focus on creative lettering and hand lettering and provide an introduction to learning calligraphy.
During the youth classes, students will learn hand lettering that can be used to create handmade projects for themselves and their families.
No prior experience with hand lettering is necessary and all levels of experience are welcome, according to event organizers.
