Officials say a local homeowner intentionally set fire to a large, double-wide mobile home in Dunnellon in order to destroy the structure.
Citrus County Fire Rescue units responded to reports of a structure fire on N Singapore Avenue in Dunnellon on the evening of Saturday, January 4.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a 1,440-square-foot double-wide mobile home that was completely engulfed in flames.
Crews quickly took action to extinguish the fire and prevent the fire from spreading.
According to CCFR, the property owner admitted to intentionally setting the fire to dispose of the structure.
“Safety Reminder: Burning structures is illegal and extremely dangerous! If you need to remove a structure, follow proper demolition and disposal procedures to ensure safety and compliance with local laws,” reads a statement from CCFR.
