Leon Mealor, 79, of Belleview, Florida passed away peacefully at 7:05 AM on January 3rd, 2025, at the Malcolm Randall VA Hospital.
Born on July 27, 1945, in Toccoa, Georgia, Leon lived a life filled with love, dedication, and a deep sense of service to both his family and community.
He is survived by his beloved wife Cheryl Mealor, with whom he shared a loving marriage of 60 years, Leon was a proud father to Richard Mealor and Christopher Mealor, and a cherished grandfather to Brandon Mealor, Makenzie Mealor Liee Blount and Ainslee Mealor. He also found joy in his great- grandson, Walker Mealor.
A veteran of the United States Air Force Leon served his country with honor. After his military service, he worked for 32 years as a District Manager at Publix Supermarkets, earning the respect and admiration of his colleagues and the community. Following his retirement, Leon became an entrepreneur, owning and managing several businesses, He operated video stores and a mobile home park in Metter, Georgia, for over 25 years, always striving to create opportunities for others while continuing to lead by example.
Leon’s legacy is one of hard work, generosity and, love. He will be remembered for his warm heart his dedication to his family, and his zest for life.
A graveside service to honor Leon will be held at 11.00 a.m. on Sunday, January 12th, 2025, at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, located at 5740 South Pine Ave, Ocala, FL 34480. Following the service, the family invites friends and loved ones to a Celebration of Life at the Pavilion inside Golden Oaks Mobile Home Park, 4900 SE 102nd Place, Belleview, FL 34420.
